During this challenging time in our lives, it is more important than ever to find ways to support our health and well-being and to develop positive ways to navigate our constantly and increasingly changing and uncertain world. We offer this free course twice a year. It consists of 6 weekly sessions as developed by the Mindfulness Association, and each session offers a set of strategies to bring an improved sense of wellness in life. It is open to anyone with eating distress and also those caring for a loved one with ED.
Everyone struggles with trying to remain in the present moment – with non-stop social media distractions, worry and planning for the future, and memories from the past fighting for our attention.
By helping us to focus our attention on the present moment, training in Mindfulness can support us to discover: a place of inner stability: a sense of feeling grounded and a level of equanimity, where we can begin to manage life’s challenges more effectively.
Anyone living with an eating disorder or distress can be helped enormously by becoming mindful and sustained practice can also support us in developing self-esteem and self-compassion which are so important in this world.
The great thing is that scientific research too, shows us how practicing mindfulness in daily life can lead us to:
All of which will contribute to improvements in levels of distress associated with food, feeling out of control around eating or not eating and diagnosed eating disorders

As a small charity, we rely on the amazing generosity of the public to allow us to continue our work. Every donation is noticed and appreciated, and allows us to really make a difference in someone’s life – by helping to provide specialised one to one counselling sessions to people who would otherwise not be able to access them, run our support groups, and provide training so people can spot the signs of eating distress and help others seek the support they need as early as possible. We use Local Giving as our donation platform, and any contribution enables us to continue providing our supportive services for people struggling with anxiety around food
