The Board of Trustees are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of EDNE including developing the vision, mission and business strategy in accordance with the governing document, legal and regulatory guidelines. The Board are also responsible for ensuring the sound legal, financial and people management of the organisation.
As the Board are responsible and liable for the governance and functioning of the Charity, they are accountable in varying degrees to a variety of stakeholders, including: funders, customers, members, partners, Charity Commission and Companies House.
The partnership between the Board and the Chief Executive and other employees and sessional workers is essential to the delivery of good governance, with the Board taking the lead on strategic matters and the CEO and staff responsible for the operational delivery.
Trustees come from all walks of life with a range of specialist knowledge, skills and experiences. Trustees are volunteers and receive no payment for their work. They are expected to attend Board meetings and any relevant sub-committees, advisory or task groups. They bring with them a commitment to the organisation and a desire to promote and develop services and knowledge of eating distres
As a small charity, we rely on the amazing generosity of the public to allow us to continue our work. Every donation is noticed and appreciated, and allows us to really make a difference in someone’s life – by helping to provide specialised one to one counselling sessions to people who would otherwise not be able to access them, run our support groups, and provide training so people can spot the signs of eating distress and help others seek the support they need as early as possible. We use Local Giving as our donation platform, and any contribution enables us to continue providing our supportive services for people struggling with anxiety around food
